Okay, I know the first day of Fall was like a few days ago, but oh boy! I’m already excited about doing my photo Christmas cards!

I’m just so inspired by the festive designs of the photo Christmas cards at Paperlust. The stationery design company has me humming Christmas songs as I try to decide which cards to order online for our friends and family this year.

Photo Christmas cards are perfect for sending loved ones a warm, personalized message of love, joy and happiness this season. You just take some family photos and choose the design you like. Your loved ones will be thrilled to see your smiling faces on the Christmas cards and will put them on display for everyone to see. Grandparent’s especially love to show them off! Since these cards are so special, we think getting them out early is best, although we are sure they will be on display well into the New Year.

Getting That Perfect Photo

Let’s talk about the part that can be challenging and that’s getting everyone together for a family photo. It can be hard to get the babies, pets and parents sitting in front of the Christmas tree in matching outfits, smiling and looking at the camera, so booking a professional photoshoot is always a great idea.

You might think hiring a photographer means your Christmas cards work out to be expensive, but we are about to give you advice that will save you heaps of time and money. Book a family photoshoot that includes the option of an outfit change. Have normal family photos taken and Christmas-theme photos in the same session. Then frame the photos you don’t use on your Christmas cards and wrap them in beautiful paper. Your gift-giving problems are solved because even the most hard-to-shop-for person will love a framed photo of your family. You don’t have to worry about rushing around a crowded mall or paying for postage for online shopping. You can pick up affordable new frames or use antique frames from a secondhand store to add a charming touch.

Choosing A Christmas Card Design

We are not going to lie. We have been swooning over the Paperlust designs and are still deciding which ones to order. You have to think about the vibe you want to send. Cards can be classic and traditional, modern and stylish, fun and silly or religious and spiritual. What is your tribe all about? If you are a couple, you might like an elegant card with simple text. For families, the brighter and better and there is an amazing selection of uplifting cards that will bring a big smile to the person receiving it.

When it comes to colors, you can’t go wrong with the timeless red, green, and gold shades. Paperlust does color so well with gorgeous combinations that joyfully shout out Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Then they bring the most trendy looks with pretty pastels, bold blacks and blue and purple tones that pop like champagne.

If you are into boho, earthy or natural styles, there are photo Christmas cards on recycled paper and those rustic colors are in fashion right now.

Here are five Paperlust photo Christmas cards that we might add to our carts. Don’t forget to click the inside button to see the design goodness featured when you open the card.

  • The Green Cheer card won us over with the innovative shape and playful font.
  • The Nativity of Jesus card fits two images and a load of text and gold graphics.
  • If you have little ones, the Reporting To Santa card is fun and festive.
  • La Familia card is bold and modern, making it suitable for young families with kids.

Getting It Just Right

After choosing your card, you can add your text, including names, yuletide messages and words of love. Paperlust will email you a design proof to check before printing begins. They are checking it once, checking it twice, and making sure your card looks just right. You have the opportunity to make any little changes and once approved, the printing will be done faster than Santa’s elves can wrap a box of lego. Your unique photo Christmas cards will arrive soon. That means you need to get busy shopping for gifts!

Speaking of gifts, Paperlust gives back to the earth. This Australian company, with 300+ independent designers all over the world is eco-friendly and environmentally aware. Whenever possible, they use recycled packaging and source products sustainably. They also collaborate with One Tree Planted to support reforestation. That means for every purchase, Paperlust gives a donation of $1 per order to the non-profit that focuses on planting trees in the Kalimantan region in Borneo, Indonesia. Customers are kept up-to-date with progress and donations that help our planet grow and thrive.

If You Run Out Of Time

Christmas is a busy time of year and if you simply run out of time, Paperlust has you covered with ready-made packs of five cards with mixed designs. You can still personalize these cards by writing your own message inside. There is always next year to get your custom-made photo Christmas cards in the mail on time.

With specialized printing techniques, including letterpress, real foil press and white ink printing, these cards will make you want to send one to yourself. Even if you do get your photo Christmas cards finished early, it is wise to have some cards for last-minute gifts or unexpected visitors.

If you still feel indecisive, why not order the $5 sample pack of paper and envelopes to feel the texture and finish of the papers available. This is an affordable way to help choose your Christmas cards, and you get a sneak peek of what it’s like for your friends and family when they receive the cards in the mail. Who doesn’t love getting mail and a thoughtful photo Christmas card is sure to be the best delivery of the day.

We hope you are inspired to start your photo Christmas cards soon. With Paperlust, it couldn’t be easier or more beautiful, so get those outfits ready for your merry Christmas photoshoot, or you might even have the perfect photo ready to design your card today!
